Suno Pro
A low single-digit multiple over rented hardware, for music models trained in-house that open weights do not match, plus a commercial licence the cheaper path does not grant.

What the price actually is
$8/month billed monthly, with an annual option the page advertises as saving $24 a year. Premier is $24/month. Pro includes a monthly credit allowance and grants a general commercial-use licence, which the free tier does not.
The usage this is priced against
150 generated tracks a month of around two minutes each. Suno publishes no API for its own models, so the comparison is running open music weights on rented high-end GPUs.
Someone using it half as much sees double the multiple. The assumption is the argument — if you disagree with it, the number below is not about you. Change it in the calculator.
The cost math, in full
Estimated monthly inference cost
Rented high-end GPU at $2.50 per GPU-hour · 150 tracks at roughly 25 seconds of generation each
Rates come from a dated rate card of representative published API prices, not from the vendor. Nobody outside these companies knows what they actually pay; volume discounts and in-house serving both push real costs below these figures, which makes every multiple here a floor rather than a ceiling.
Why this verdict, not the number
The models are the product and there is no API to wrap. What makes this entry unusual is that the subscription also buys a licence: the paid tier grants commercial use of what you generate, which is a legal position rather than a compute cost and does not appear anywhere in a GPU bill. Open music models exist and are improving quickly, which is the honest pressure on this price.
What the price buys besides tokens
- Proprietary model
- Scale & infra
Music generation trained in-house, covering composition, arrangement and vocals in one pass. The commercial-use licence attached to paid tiers is a substantial part of what a working user is actually buying, and self-hosting does not supply it.
What you lose if you leave
The output quality, the coherent song structure, and the commercial licence. Generating something you may legally sell is not the same as generating something.
The honest cheaper path
Open music models such as the ACE-Step or YuE families on rented GPUs, or MusicGen for shorter instrumental pieces. Cheaper, rougher, and the licensing of what you produce becomes your problem to research.
Recompute it for yourself
Recompute this for your own usage
Scaling assumes your usage has the same shape as ours, just more or less of it. If your mix is different — far more output than input, say — the estimate drifts. It is an estimate either way.
